Question of the Week—Employee Rewards and Recognition Programs
I am looking for information regarding employee rewards and recognition programs that other organizations have implemented.  We are currently discussing creative methods to recognize the accomplishments of staff through both monetary and non-monetary ways.

An excerpt from the ASAE Finance & Administration Section - Human Resources listserver:
We are a staff of 21. When we looked into this several years ago we didn't really
like the "choose a gift from a book" options. We selected a few stores in the area
(A local jewelry store, Coach, Macy's, Best Buys and Home Depot) and purchased
a gift certificate. The gift certificates are only redeemable for merchandise, which
is why we don't issue AMEX gift certificates. The employee receives a gift
certificate for every five years of service. (5 Yr - $100, 10 Yr - $200, etc.) We print a certificate with the employee's name and dates of service and our E.D. gives this to the employee and thanks them for their years of service. This is done at one of our Monday morning staff meetings.
