ASAE Meets With Chair of Tax Reform Panel
ASAE president and CEO, John H. Graham IV, CAE, met last week with former Sen. Connie Mack, chairman of the president’s Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform, to discuss ASAE’s report on the major tax restructuring proposals under discussion and their potential impact on associations and other nonprofit organizations.
The panel, co-chaired by Mack and John Breaux, has held six public meetings across the country since February seeking insight on the tax system from individuals, businesses and associations, as well as members of Congress. After a comprehensive examination of the current tax system, the panel is beginning to consider specific reform proposals before submitting a report to Treasury Secretary John Snow by July 31, 2005.
The deadline to submit tax reform comments to the advisory panel is April 29. More information on submitting comments and details on the format for comments is available at www.taxreformpanel.gov/contact/. To view ASAE’s report in its entirety, visit http://info.asaenet.org/pdf/TaxImpact_Restructuring_Proposals.pdf.

"Certain individuals can be counted on to deliver such insight that you read everything they write and make every effort to hear them whenever they are speaking. Meg Wheatley is one of the few people I place in that category. Her thoughts on individual leadership and organizational development are heartfelt, honest and invaluable. To have the chance to spend time in dialogue with her in the intimate space of a Center program is something I would not miss."
