FCC Regulations to take effect July 1
ASAE and the Fax Ban Coalition continue to work to overturn the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) proposed new regulations governing fax communications, which are due to take effect on July 1, 2005.
Legislatively, ASAE and the coalition are working closely with the Senate to seek final passage of S. 714, the "Junk Fax Prevention Act of 2005." The Senate Commerce Committee approved the bill on April 14, and once the committee report is filed, we expect the bill to be readied for quick passage by unanimous consent.
Additionally, on April 15, ASAE and the coalition filed a new six-month extension request with the FCC; it is expected that the FCC, after conversations with Senate Commerce Committee staff members, will act favorably upon that request at the appropriate time. We want to thank the hundreds of ASAE members who signed onto the FCC petition.
Should you have any questions on this issue, please contact Chris Merida at cmerida@asaenet.org.

This includes the “typical” leadership skills of listening, communicating, collaborating, etc. Gain valuable insights on how to develop your own leadership ability and learn the role that personal and organizational crises play. This session will help you stay motivated as you face challenges and change in your organization as well as in your meetings.

"The Experience Economy" with James Gilmore
A fundamental shift is occurring in the very fabric of our economy. Today, what people desire are neither goods nor services, but something very different, namely experiences that engage them in a personal and memorable way. James Gilmore, co-author of The Experience Economy, contends that experiences are, in fact, a distinct form of economic output, as distinct from services as services are from goods. These experiences will increasingly provide the basis for generating new revenue growth in business. In this provocative session, Gilmore will describe the nature of this emerging experience economy and outline principles for designing compelling association experiences. |
